Health, Music and Love – The Recipe for Success

We all strive for balance in our lives at some point.  It usually begins when we’ve been through enough adversity and we’ve suffered too much of what we don’t want, that we finally start creating a more healthy and supportive way of being.

It took me many moons to finally figure out what I needed as a woman, (and being in the health and wellness industry for over 20 years AND being a musician) to be present in my body and to live a life of grace and ease-also to be able to help others along their journey.

For me, I need a daily dose of-Health, Music and Love, in order to not only thrive but to function from day to day.

What this looks like for me is making sure I practice my music every day and doing my Self Love work-daily.

Waking up early and doing what I call-“My Healthy Rockstar Routine” first thing in the morning and set myself up for success is also a KEY factor in my day!

I’m sure you’ve heard that the majority of successful people, wake up early…. I know I know. Us artists are usually night owls cause we usually feel inspired in the late hours or we are working our passions at night.  So, how can we thrive and create and wake up early to rock our world?  Well, my friend-it takes discipline.

Trust me this has been a VERY difficult one for me, as I was never disciplined as a child and I have been literally starving for it my whole young life.  It wasn’t until I learned how to master the art of self-discipline that I began to experience a “successful” life.

I have 3 very important things I do first thing in the morning that changed my life.

One thing I do in the morning, which I’ve been doing for almost 20 years-is drink a large cup of hot water and lemon with a pinch of healthy salt.  It seems like a silly thing to do that couldn’t possibly make that much of a difference in your day-but the truth is, it will change your life.  Why? Because most people wake up and drink coffee or caffeine of some sort then rush into their day reactively, without having hardly any water at all through the day.  When you do this, you are loading your body with acid, then your body goes into a “theft” process and starts robbing your body of vital minerals.  Ever notice that you have sore joints or get leg cramps? Its because you’re stealing from yourself to stay alive!  Yes, that’s right.  Your body is a brilliant machine that is constantly fighting for your survival and all you have to do is give it the simple essentials it needs, to thrive!

So, if you’re one of those people who don’t like to drink water, the secret is-lemon! Add it to your filtered water and take a 2-litre jug with you for your day.  (Don’t forget to add a pinch of healthy salt!)
